!±8± Netbook Freezes - Why My Netbook Is Freezing, How Do I Fix It?

Turn Off Unnecessary Services

While your netbook is turned, many computer services also start running. Many such services are not regularly used. It is wise to stop these services either manually or through some system utility software having the capability to manage and optimize computer services. Turning off these services will most likely stop netbook freezing.

1. Download a System Utilities software that includes Services Manager feature.
2. Click Services Manager tab and disable unwanted services.

Disable Startup Programs

The programs running at the netbook startup other than Windows components and antivirus software result in netbook freezes. Simply disabling them will fix the issue.

1. Click Start.
2. Click Run or Search Box.
3. Type MsConfig and press ENTER.
4. Disable start-ups from the Startup tab.
5. Click Apply | OK.

Disable Visual Effects

The visual effects associated with Microsoft Windows may cause netbook freezing. You can disable these effects to fix the issue.

The steps are as follows:

1. Click Start, and right click My Computer.
2. Select Properties.
3. Click Advanced System Settings.
4. Click Advanced tab.
5. Click Settings under Performance frame.
6. Click Visual Effects tab.
7. Select the option Adjust for Best Appearance and click Apply | OK | OK.
